'Scam Done By...': Sanjay Singh After SC Asks Him Not to Speak on Role in Liquor Case
“A big conspiracy has taken place to put Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal behind bars. The BJP is responsible for the liquor scam. The senior leadership of the party are involved in this," Singh said

Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha lawmaker Sanjay Singh on Friday claimed that the top leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is involved in a conspiracy to arrest Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He also alleged that BJP is responsible for the Delhi liquor policy scam.

“A big conspiracy has taken place to put Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal behind bars. The BJP is responsible for the liquor scam. The senior leadership of the party are involved in this,” Singh said in a press conference in Delhi.

Singh, who was also arrested in connection with the liquor policy case, walked out of jail on Wednesday after the Supreme Court granted him bail after the Enforcement Directorate said it had no objection to his release.

However, the court has asked Singh to not speak to the media about his role in the case as a condition of his bail.

Further elaborating on his claim, the AAP leader released a photograph suggesting a link between BJP and Magunta Reddy, father of Delhi Excise policy accused-turned-approver Raghava Reddy.

Singh claimed Reddy changed his statement after five months of torture and gave a false statement against the Delhi CM.

“There is one person, Magunta Reddy, who gave three statements, his son Raghav Magunta gave seven statements. On 16th September, when he (Magunta Reddy) was first asked by ED whether he knew Arvind Kejriwal, he told the truth and said that he met Arvind Kejriwal but in the matter of charitable trust land. But after that, his son was arrested and after 5 months of keeping him in jail, his father changed his statement,” Singh said.

“From 10th February to 16th July, seven statements of Raghav Magunta were taken. In six of the seven statements, he does not say anything against Arvind Kejriwal, but in the seventh statement on 16th July, he changes his stance and becomes a part of the conspiracy and gives a statement against Arvind Kejriwal. After 5 months of torture, he changed his statement and stood against Arvind Kejriwal,” he added.

When asked about the controversy over the placement of Kejriwal’s picture along with freedom fighters Bhagat Singh and BR Ambedkar as a backdrop in Sunita Kejriwal’s video statement, Singh said, “Can I not add my picture,or anyone else with Bhagat Singh. People take selfie with Ambedkar, Bhagat Singh. All citizens have the right to get clicked with these great leaders. What is the issue here. It does not mean that we are claiming that we are are big as they are. It just mean that we are inspired by them.”
