TDP-BJP alliance would be a success in Telangana: Kishan Reddy
BJP is banking heavily on the public meetings to be addressed by Modi in Telangana likely on April 22, followed by Rajnath Singh's tour.

Hyderabad: Despite the heavy presence of Congress and TRS in the electoral fray in Telangana, the TDP-BJP alliance would still be successful in the region, Telangana BJP Chief G Kishan Reddy has said.

"The election atmosphere is definitely in favour of BJP in Telangana. The number of our MLA and MP seats is going to increase. BJP cadre in Telangana are feeling confident," he told PTI in an interview.

"People of Telangana are looking at BJP and Narendra Modi's leadership. Telangana people want to fulfil their responsibility in Modi forming government at the Centre," he said.

As Congress and TRS claim credit for the formation of separate Telangana in the electoral battle, BJP has joined hands with TDP to put together a potent combination for the simultaneous elections to the Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly in undivided Andhra Pradesh.

"We have competition from Congress in some areas and from TRS in other areas. The competition is between us and Congress in Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Mahabubnagar districts.

It is between us and TRS in north Telangana. TDP-BJP combine can win more seats in the triangular contest," Reddy, an MLA in the outgoing AP assembly, said.

As per the seat-sharing arrangement between the two parties, BJP has been allotted 47 of the 119 assembly seats and eight of the 17 Lok Sabha segments in Telangana.

BJP is banking heavily on the public meetings to be addressed by Modi in Telangana likely on April 22, followed by party president Rajnath Singh's tour.

Replying to a query, he said BJP and TDP are working together to make the alliance a success in Telangana. The polling is scheduled to be held in Telangana on April 30.
