For the unversed, Lavani is a popular folk dance form belonging to the state of Maharashtra. This folk art form is a combination of traditional song and dance which is performed mostly to the beats of dholki, which is a percussion instrument. This art form is usually performed by women clad in nine-yard long sarees, called the Nauvari. The outfit is teamed up with heavy jewellery including earrings, anklet, kamarpatta, necklace and bangles. Another typical accessory with the costume is a big red bindi on the forehead. The reason why Lavani stands out in comparison to other traditional dance forms is because of its powerful rhythm.

Meanwhile, another hidden talent came to light after a dance video by a woman based out of Amroha in Uttar Pradesh was shared by actress Madhuri Dixit. The woman had beautifully performed on actress’ number from the 1957 film Mother India.

Lauding her efforts, Madhuri in a part of her tweet said, “She is dancing so beautifully. There is so much talent waiting to be discovered.”
