AirPods are getting new features with iOS 18 update this year and even Siri is going to be smarter in this avatar.

Apple talked a lot about the new software versions and AI at the WWDC 2024 this year. And it recently revealed significant software updates for their AirPods Pro models as well. These updates aim to improve Siri interactions, enhance voice isolation, and introduce personalised spatial audio for gamers.

The first feature among the updates is Siri Interactions for AirPods Pro. This feature enables users to privately interact with Siri using simple head gestures like nodding yes or shaking no. Powered by machine learning on the H2 chip, Siri Interactions allows users to manage calls, messages, notifications, and more without speaking aloud.

The second big update for the AirPods Pro models is the Voice Isolation, which has been introduced by the company to give the best calling experience to the customers regardless of the environmental conditions. The company claims the machine learning running on the H2 chip in AirPods Pro and the paired iPhone, iPad or Mac, isolates and enhances voice quality while removing significant background noise like wind around the caller for the listener.

The new update has something for gamers as well. The Personalised Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking feature will be available for all gamers, offering an immersive audio experience. As per Apple, while using AirPods Pro, gamers will now have the best wireless audio latency Apple has ever delivered for mobile gaming. Additionally, the update offers an improved voice quality with 16-bit, 48kHz audio when talking to their teammates or other players. Note, this feature will be available for AirPods Pro, AirPods Max and AirPods (3rd-generation models).

Well, that’s not all, the tech giant has also introduced a developer API, especially for the game creators to help them develop more impressive sound designs for the games. These updates will be available for the users later this year.

In India, the AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) costs Rs 24,900. While the AirPods 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen are priced at Rs 12,900 and Rs 19,900. Whereas the AirPods Max will cost you Rs 59,900.
