New Delhi: Along with its lighter new 12-inch MacBook and the highly-anticipated Apple Watch, Apple has also announced key updates to its earlier MacBook Pro and MacBook Air devices at its Spring Forward event.
The company has updated its existing 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air with Thunderbolt 2 and faster Core i5 processors, along with a better flash storage, Thunderbolt 2, and Intel HD Graphics 6000.
The updated MacBook Pro and MacBook Air come with the newest OS X Yosemite, and feature the latest Force Touch trackpad, eliminating the right click as the new trackpad includes force sensors that detect subtle differences in the amount of downward pressure you apply.
That means you can either tap the touchpad or give it a harder press in order to bring up the functions that were usually associated with the right-click, a TechCrunch report stated.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display has also been updated with the latest Core i5 and i7 processors, faster flash storage, Intel HD Graphics 6100, Thunderbolt 2, and an improved battery life that goes on for 10 hours on a single charge.
The latest MacBook (the company has named it just that without using the Air suffix) is a lighter laptop that weighs just 2 pounds and sports a 12-inch retina display. The biggest change in the new device is that it includes just one port, the USB Type-C, and does away with other components like a separate charging port or display output.
The 11-inch MacBook Air with 4GB of memory and 128GB of flash storage starts at Rs 65,900; and the 256GB of flash storage variant starts at Rs 79,900. The 13-inch MacBook Air with 128GB of flash storage is priced at Rs 72,900 while the 256GB of flash storage variant starts at Rs 86,900.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro is priced at Rs 94,000 for 8GB memory and 128GB of flash storage; Rs 1,09,000 for 256GB of flash storage, and Rs 1,29,000 for 512GB of flash storage.
