New Delhi: Apple unveiled its most-awaited new product, a smartwatch, at its Spring Forward event on March 9. While many are left scratching their heads if the Apple Watch will make any difference to the slow smartwatch industry where other manufacturers have already tried their hands, others are questioning Apple's positioning of the device more as a fashion statement than just a gadget.
The cost of the Apple Watch is another area of debate which has left many befuddled. The smartwatch's prices start from $349 for a base model and goes up to an astounding $17,000 for the 18-karat rose gold luxury edition.
The gadget lets you make calls, read email, control music, manage Instagram photos, keep up with your workout, pay for groceries, open your hotel room door, and do much more with a battery that lasts for 18 hours a day.
The Apple Watch Sport 38mm model will cost $349, while the 42mm model will cost $399. The Stainless Steel Edition 38mm model will cost $549and the 42mm model will cost $599. The prices of these watches can further go up to $1,049 and $1,099 depending on the band they're paired with.
The luxury Apple Watch Edition starts at $10,000 for the 18-karat gold version while the yellow or rose gold models with sapphire faces will cost up to $17,000 for a 38-mm size.
