Google Pixel 9 Could Launch With Windows 11 Recall-Like AI Feature But Less Scary: Know More
Google is hosting its big Pixel launch event next month where we expect to see new devices and AI features from the company.

Google is ready to take cues from Microsoft’s mistakes and offer its own AI feature for Pixel users that is less scary. Reports say that the Pixel 9 series will be its first lineup to come with AI features out of the box. And one of these features will be called Pixel Screenshots that will capture details from images in the form of a library that can be helpful later.

Pixel 9 series is likely to offer on-device AI processing so features like these could help people feel less worried about what Google can read. This is a big shift from Microsoft’s Recall on Windows 11 that can essentially capture all your activities on the PC and help you monitor the data when needed. However, the company was criticised for bringing this too, which Elon Musk said reminded him of a Black Mirror episode, the popular sci-fi dystopian series. Microsoft was forced to roll back its release without giving a clear timeline but Google will go ahead with its feature next month.

Pixel Screenshots – How Will It Work

The details about this AI tool have been mentioned by Android Authority who claim that Google will not take these screenshots by default and will require manual assistance to capture these images.

The feature will require access to the media library on the Pixel device and Google reportedly assures that the data processing will be done on the device.

The details accessed from these screenshots include images, text, metadata and AI-generated content as well. Google is likely to rely on the mobile-centric Gemini Nano AI model to do the heavy work. We’re eager to see how Google pulls this off and if the company can really walk the talk by making these privacy claims stand true.

Google will reveal all the details about its AI push, and the new Pixel 9 series that will be launching, surprise surprise, in August this year. Google could be planning to steal Apple’s AI thunder by going for an earlier launch, but Samsung could surpass both as the new Galaxy AI-powered foldables are launching as early as next week.
