Oppo has refreshed its premium Reno smartphone lineup with the new Oppo Reno 5K in China. The new smartphone looks similar to its sibling Oppo Reno 5 5G, though it packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chipset instead of the Snapdragon 765 SoC. Overall, the Oppo Reno 5K comes with quad rear cameras, a 4,300mAh battery, and an OLED display – similar to its vanilla Oppo Reno 5 5G that was first launched in China in December 2020. In India, only the Oppo Reno5 Pro 5G is available from the new Reno 5 series.
Currently, the pricing details of the Oppo Reno 5K in China remain unclear though the company has revealed its two storage options of 8GB RAM + 128GB and 12GB RAM + 256GB. The smartphone’s sale in China will begin on March 6 in Green Breeze, Midnight Black, and Starry Dream colour options. To recall, Oppo launched the Oppo Reno 5 5G with a price tag of CNY 2,699 (approx Rs 30,300) and CNY 2,999 (approx Rs 33,700) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variants, respectively. The global availability details of the Oppo Reno 5K remains unclear, at the moment.
In terms of looks and features, there are lots of similarities between the Oppo Reno 5K and Oppo Reno 5 5G. The newly launched Oppo phone features a 6.43-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and runs on Android 11 with ColorOS 11.1. Under the hood, it packs the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G chipset coupled with Adreno 619 GPU and up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM. There’s a 4,300mAh dual-cell battery that supports SuperVOOC 2.0, SuperVOOC, VOOC 3.0, PD, and QC fast charging solutions. Other features include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Coming to the optics, the Oppo Reno 5K comes with a quad rear camera setup that includes a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle shooter, a 2-megapixel macro shooter, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. At the front, it carries a 32-megapixel selfie shooter inside the hole-punch cutout at the top-left corner. The camera app comes bundled with modes such as panorama, portrait, night scene, time-lapse photography, cute shooting, and AI ID photo.
