Xiaomi has launched the new budget Redmi 13 5G smartphone in the Indian market this week and the new model is getting some much-needed upgrades. The Redmi series has positioned itself for the price-conscious audience but giving them value for their money. The Redmi 13 is looking to build on that premise and still pack in a few additions that keeps the buyers happy. You are also getting Android 14 out of the box which is a rarity in this range.

Redmi 13 5G has launched in India at Rs 13,999 for the base 6GB + 128GB variant and Rs 15,499 if you want the higher 8GB + 128GB model. Redmi 13 will be available from July 12 across different channels.

Redmi 13 5G sports a large 6.79-inch display but with an IPS panel and offers Full HD+ resolution with 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by the new Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 AE chipset with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage which is further expandable. The main design highlight is the dual glass back finish on the panel, a big change from the plastic that we have seen with the previous Redmi phones. The phone weighs 205 grams and comes in three colours.
The other big upgrade is in the imaging department with a 108MP primary sensor at the back, along with a 2MP macro sensor. You also get the new HyperOS version out of the box, a first for a Redmi phone from the company. Xiaomi says the phone will get 2 years of OS upgrades and 3 years of security updates. Redmi 13 packs a 5030mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging this time around and the charger is bundled in the box. You even get the 3.5mm headphone jack if you are still using the wired earphones for music and FM Radio on the go.
