Samsung Announces Micro-LED, Neo QLED TVs, Smart Monitor & New Soundbar at Unbox 2021 Event
Samsung said that its latest innovations let customers get the most from their screens - allowing users to work efficiently, communicated effectively, and explore their personal passions.

South Korean electronics giant Samsung, on Tuesday held its Unbox and Discover event online, where the company showcased its 2021 lineup of micro-LED TVs, Neo QLED TV, lifestyle TVs, monitors, and soundbars. Samsung said that its latest innovations let customers get the most from their screens ? allowing users to work efficiently, communicated effectively, and explore their personal passions.

?Over the past year, technologies that were once ‘nice to have’ became a need, as our homes became offices, schools, gyms, and more,” James Fishler, Senior Vice President for Samsung?s Home Entertainment Division said during the event. During the event, Samsung announced the launch of its Micro-LED technology, which uses inorganic LEDs to help prevent burn-in and ensure the screen does not lose colour or brightness over time. The Micro-LED technology, which was first introduced in 2018 with Samsung?s The Wall configurable TV, which can reach up to 292 inches in size. Yesterday, the company announced that in 2021, the Micro-LED technology will be seen in the form factor of a traditional TV. The new Micro-LED TVs are available in 110-inch and 99-inch sizes, launching globally at the end of March. Further, an 88-inch size is launching this fall and a 76-inch TV is on the future roadmap. Samsung also said that Micro-LED allows users to put together 4 screens to make it one. With 4Vue (Quadd View), consumers can watch up to four screens of content simultaneously.

Samsung also announced its Neo QLED range. The company uses Neo Quantum Processors, and new Quantum Mini-LEDs to enhance the Neo QLED viewing experience. The Mini-LEDs used by Samsung are 1/40th the size of conventional LEDs, allowing for ultra-fine light control, deeper blacks, brighter lights, and upscaling technology ?smarter than any Samsung TV has ever offered.? The Samsung Neo QLED TVs are also ideal for gaming. Samsung, being the official partner of Xbox Series X in the US and Canada, Samsung Neo QLED and QLEDs let users see virtually every detail with incredible 4k clarity, a silky-smooth 120 frames per second, and a low 5.8ms response time. to further optimise gaming, Samsung has even partnered with AMD to develop the first TV with Freesync Premium Pro support for both PC and console games to deliver HDR gaming. In 2021, Samsung Neo QLED’s 8K models (QN800A and QN900A) will be available in 65-inch, 75-inch, and 85-inch sizes, while the 4K models (QN90A and QN85A) will reflect an even wider selection, starting at a 50-inch size.

Samsung also announced its new Smart Monitor, alongside the Q950A soundbar. The Smart Monitor is Samsung?s first ?do-it-all? monitor. The new Smart Monitor is compatible with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Wireless DeX, and Apple AirPlay 2, allowing customers to work from anywhere without needing to connect a PC. Samsung also announced that its Odyssey G9 gaming monitor is also getting updated with a Quantum Mini-LED display and premium gaming features. Further, the company also introduced a new Samsung Interactive Display FLIP, which is a 75-inch digital whiteboard that allows users to write, draw, edit, and more. The 75-inch Samsung Interactive Display FLIP joins the 65-inch and 85-inch variants of the interactive display.

The new Q-series soundbar announced by Samsung includes the company?s Q-Symphony technology, which syncs audio from a Samsung TV to deliver enhanced 3D sound. The Samsung Q950A soundbar even measures its environment to project audio precisely where it needs to be. The Q950A sports an industry-first 11.1.4 channel sound, along with a bass boost feature that enhances bass with the click of a button. The Q950 also works with multiple voice assistants like Amazon?s Alexa and Samsung?s own Bixby.
