New Delhi: Asus has rolled out its latest ZenPad S 8.0 (Z580CA) tablet at its ongoing Computexevent in Taipei. The newest addition to its line of tablets, the ZenPad S 8.0 is touted as the world’s first tablet to come with 4GB of RAM.
The ZenPad S 8.0 sports an 8-inch 2K QXGA (1536x 2048) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It is powered by a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 processor and comes with storage options of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, and is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
The tablet sports an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. Connectivity options include Bluetooth and Miracast.
The ZenPad S 8.0 comes with the unique USB Type-C support and is 6.6mm thin, weighing only 298g. It is available in Black and White colour options. It comes with an optional Z Stylus, suited for creative tasks such as sketching, painting, and even design work.
Along with the ZenPad S 8.0, Asus also introduced a ZenPad 8.0 tablet (Z380) that comes with an interchangeable cover design that lets users easily customize their tablet with functional back covers. These include a fashion cover, an audio covers, and a power case for extended battery life.
The ZenPad 8.0 is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop and sports an 8-inch LED WXGA IPS display. It runs the Intel Atom x3-C3200 Quad-Core, 64bit chipset and available in 1GB or 2GB RAM options. It includes 8GB internal storage. A 16GB variant is also available.
The ZenPad 8.0 sports a 5 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front camera. It weighs 350 g and is available in Black, White, and Aurora Metallic colour choices. It is available as available with LTE/Wi-Fi connectivity and phone functionality (Z380KL) or as a Wi-Fi-only model.
The Taiwanese company also rolled out its ZenPad series of premium tablets that are available in three sizes- the 7-inch ZenPad 7.0 (Z370C/CG/CL), the 8-inch ZenPad 8.0 (Z380C/KL) and ZenPad S 8.0 (Z580C/CA) with optional Z Stylus, and the 10-inch ZenPad 10.1 (Z300C/CG/CL) with an optional keyboard — and models with Wi-Fi, LTE/3G connectivity and phone functionality.
The ZenPad boasts of a HD IPS display with Asus’ own VisualMaster suite of visual enhancement technologies. It is also touted as the world’s first tablet to integrate DTS Premium Sound technology for incredible audio. It also includes DTS Sound Studio to transform stereo audio into virtual surround-sound for an immersive entertainment experience.
