Carlos Alcaraz and Roger Federer were spotted watching the Shanghai Masters final together on Sunday at the Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena. Jannik Sinner put up a dominant performance in the summit clash and beat Novak Djokovic 7-6 (4), 6-3 to secure the title. It marked Sinner’s fourth victory in the last-five meetings with the Serbian legend. Nearly 1200 spectators, including some top names from global tennis, attended the final.

Alcaraz, who crashed out of the tournament after losing the quarter-final to Tomas Machac, was present in the stands. The Spaniard is now gearing up to feature in the Six Kings Slam, scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia from October 16.
Sinner and Djokovic will also be competing at the event.
Alcaraz, along with his father and brother Alvaro, will jet off to the Middle East directly from Shanghai. The 21-year-old was seated next to Federer, a sight that has elated the tennis fans.
After losing the final to Sinner, Djokovic acknowledged Federer and Alcaraz during his runner-up speech.
“It’s nice to see Roger. I’m not used to seeing you in the stands I wish you were here on the court playing with us but it’s probably the first time that I’m playing in front of you so I had added pressure today but no it’s great, thanks for being here. Carlos as well, Juan Carlos as well. Thank you for coming out and being part of this match,” Djokovic said.
Federer recently opened up about spending time with Alcaraz ahead of the Laver Cup in September.
At that time, Federer also recalled how he ignored practising with the youngsters a few years back at Wimbledon.
Instead of Alcaraz, Federer wanted to warm up with the Spanish coach Juan Carlos Ferrero. “No, it’s okay, I’d rather warm up with his coach,” the 20-time Grand Slam champion had said back then.
Federer retired from professional tennis in 2022. The Swiss maestro ended his illustrious career with 20 Grand Slam wins under his belt.
