Some even made a funny remark that the Indians must probably have been searching for Coldplay’s songs and albums after they purchased the ticket.

Coldplay’s iconic song Yellow is back on the Global Top Charts as if it never left. Originally recorded as a single with the Parachutes album, the song returned, proving why it was loved. By September 22, Yellow made it to #20 with over 2.6 million streams — 24 years later! There are rumours that this comeback may be related to Coldplay’s concerts in Mumbai in January next year.

Long-awaiting their arrival back to India for a concert, Coldplay fans erupted when the band fixed their tour dates for their Music of the Spheres World Tour. The floodgates opened when tickets went on sale, and 13 million fans rushed to BookMyShow to try and get their hands on one of those golden passes. Many celebrated and secured their spot while others watched their dreams shatter and continuously refreshed the site.

Not surprisingly, the internet didn’t take long to remind us how Yellow is back on the charts. Some even made a funny remark that the Indians must probably have been searching for Coldplay’s songs and albums after they purchased the ticket.

Take a look at some of the reactions:

A user wrote on X, “Wannabe Indian ‘fans’ hoarding @coldplay (sic) concert tickets are now discovering the band just to make reels for views.” Looks like the peer pressure is real after all.

“FOMO first, discovering the artist next,” said another user.

Humorously, and probably mockingly, a user said, “Tickets to book karli. Ab lyrics yaad kar leta hoon” (“Booked the tickets, now let me memorize the lyrics.”)

Yet another user sharing the same sentiments stated, “Everyone who managed to get tickets is brushing up on lyrics.”

“Everyone knows the reason whyyy” read another X post. Yes, we do. (Maybe).

An individual went on to add, “Well people have started their homework early!”

However, this user shared a different POV saying, “Impact of thousands of Indians who couldn’t secure the tickets. Must be crying listening to this song.”

“Indians tryna learn the lyrics like its hanuman chalisa”, said a user.

The event is slated to take place at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on Saturday, January 18, January 19 and January 25, 2025.
