Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations began throughout the country on September 7 with celebrities and citizens leaving no stone unturned in making it bigger, better, and grander. Here, a heartwarming video of a stray dog welcoming Bappa and joining the Ganpati Agaman from Bandra East has won been going viral. In the video, Sheru, who resides with the Shree Sai Seva Mitra Mandal can be seen dressed for the occasion as he takes part in welcoming Ganpati with the same devotion as humans. The adorable video has touched the hearts of many users, garnering 1 million since it was shared.

Sharing the video, an Instagram user wrote, “Sheru living his best life with shree_sai_seva_mitra_mandal of Bandra East, as they welcome Ganpati Bappa to their home. Ganpati Agaman, 2024.” The video features Sheru sporting a red and white dress joining the vehicle on which the deity of Ganesh is placed. He is running with the procession, enjoying pats from the devotees now and then.
Hundreds of social media users have reacted to the video by dropping heart emojis. For many, it is a visual representation of coexistence. Many have also reflected on how religious festivals bring humans and animals together.

Among other cities, Ganesh Chaturthi is marked with tremendous enthusiasm in Mumbai. Being the biggest celebration, a school holiday has also been declared in Maharashtra. As per reports, September 6 saw crowds assemble in large numbers for darshan at the iconic Lalbaugcha Raja, Dagdusheth, and other temples in Mumbai. Ganesh Utsav 2024 will go on for 10 days and will conclude with Ganesh Visarjan on September 17.
