The girl expressed her frustration about how her parents did a poor job of naming her. Her discomfort over the name has impacted her life in various ways. Most importantly, her social life has been affected so much. The girl has faced embarrassment over her name since childhood, in schools, and in college. She has also accepted that she is envious of how other people have better names.
Sharon, took to Reddit, to show her frustration. According to her, “People like to compare my name to Karen and online I have seen a lot of people say that things like Sharon and Karen are very annoying. At least my name should have been changed to Sherin by replacing O with ‘i’, otherwise Sherin would have been better. I swear I genuinely get jealous when I hear other people’s names, I get so upset when I see people online complain about their names even when it’s seriously not bad at all. I see people complaining that their name is “too common” but I would die for a normal name.”

According to Sharon, her mother suggested she change her name as she pleases, but she cannot change her name as everyone knows her by her current name for all this while. Changing the name suddenly can create a lot of issues, as she expressed.

Fellow Reddit users quickly shared their concerns after her post and shared ideas to change her name to some other name according to her choice when she reaches the legally permitted age.
