A group of four stones floating in the Ramsagar Pond in Gaya, Bihar has attracted a large crowd lately. Rumours quickly spread that no one knew where the stone came from. This news caused a stir in the southern part of Gaya city after 10 AM on Tuesday. From morning till evening, people flocked to Ramsagar Pond in the Vishnupad police station area. The majority of the crowd comprised women. Some worshipped the stones from far away, while others doubted their authenticity. People stood for hours gazing at floating stones in the water.
People came from Chand Chaura, Bypass, Koiri Bari, GB Road, and other nearby areas in the south. Also, the western side of the pond quickly filled with huge crowds. Some women even brought puja sticks with them.
However, not everyone was convinced by the notion of floating stones. More than four stones were spotted floating in the pond. Eventually, as a couple of the stones drifted towards the western shore, a young man retrieved one from the water. This prompted eager women to touch and offer obeisance to the stone. Subsequently, the man placed the stone in the middle of the Ramsagar Pond. This cycle of removing and returning stones to the water continued as everyone wanted to touch it.
A visitor named Vijay Kumar Singh mentioned that it was the first time he had witnessed four stones floating there, with one weighing approximately two kg. He expressed excitement regarding their origin. Jitendra Kumar from Chandchaura shared that despite his regular morning walks by the pond, he had never seen such a phenomenon before, deeming it as a divine manifestation. Some locals suggested that the four floating stones resembled Lord Shri Ram and his brothers, advocating for the construction of a temple in the middle of the pond.
However, Sandeep, who touched one of the stones, described it as not very heavy and had a texture similar to cement. Sandeep and Deepu Sinha, residents of Ramsagar, believe these are indeed floating stones commonly used in construction. They suspect that the stones were brought from a nearby apartment and thrown into the pond.
