Man Finding His Lost Wallet Is A Bengaluru Tale To Remember
The Bengaluru man who lost his wallet received an unexpected message from a stranger who found it.

In a busy city like Bengaluru, dropping one’s wallet on the road means losing it forever. However, Gururaj Shivanand managed to find his wallet again, all thanks to a stranger, who spotted the lost wallet and decided to find its owner. In a wholesome X post, Gururaj Shivanand shared that last week he dropped his phone on the busy Nagenahalli main road. A day later Gururaj got a phone from Ramesh C who told him that he found Gururaj’s phone on the road. Gururaj had his driver’s license, cards, and some cash in his wallet. He then met Ramesh C at a common point to collect his wallet.

Ramesh C told Gururaj that he managed to contact him through an old receipt that was kept inside the wallet. Gururaj was very moved by Ramesh C’s kind gesture.

Gururaj shared this small but meaningful act of kindness in an X post that has gathered over 12,000 likes since it was posted on January 11. Commenting on this post, an X user wrote, “There are countless individuals around the world with conscious and noble intentions. Their actions contribute to positive change and inspire hope for a better future. Let’s celebrate these instances to foster a collective belief in the possibility of positive impact.”

Gururaj spoke to the Times of India about this incident and said, “It wasn’t the money or cards for me, but I wanted to know why he had made efforts to track me down and return my wallet. This simple act has stirred up so much goodwill. He didn’t expect a reward nor did he accept it when I offered.”

Ramesh said that he once lost his wallet and kept hoping that someone would return it. The real estate agent said, “I know how tedious the process is to retrieve any kind of lost credit/debit card. I’m also aware that it would be difficult to re-apply for a driving license or an Aadhaar card. When I found a lost wallet while on my way back home, I knew I had to track the owner down and return it. Unfortunately, none of the cards in his wallet had his contact information. On inspecting his wallet, I found an old receipt with a phone number. I didn’t know if it was a valid number, but I gave it a try. Luckily, it was his number.”
