Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg has revealed the first email ID he used to create a Facebook account. In his recent activity on threads, Zuckerberg responded to an artist’s funny post where she wrote, “I’m you had to have a .edu email address to join Facebook years old.”
Meta CEO Zuckerberg while reacting wrote, “Real ones know. The first account was [email protected].”
Soon after Mark’s reply, comments from old-time Facebook started pouring with users saying ‘Time Flies’. Netizens were reminiscing about their memories of Facebook from two decades ago and even asking Facebook co-founder if the email was still active. A user wrote, “I remember being a senior in high school and the thing I was most excited about was graduating so I could finally apply for a Facebook account with my college email. It was all I cared about at the time.”

Yet another read, “So many people will now test that email.” Another wrote, “I entered college in fall 2004. I remember when we had to switch Facebook from our .edu addresses to the accounts we had now! I think late 2005 or 2006 or so?”
According to a report by the Guardian, Mark Zuckerberg was the first on the platform but not the first one to have an ID. Three more IDs were created before Zuckerberg’s for testing and later deleted. While the Meta CEO claimed the fourth position on the list, Facebook co-founders Chris Hughes and Dustin Moscovitz occupied the fifth and sixth positions.
Facebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg and his Harvard classmates, Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz, Andrew McCollum, and Chris Hughes in 2004 as “thefacebook.com.” As per reports, it was launched as a “directory of information for college students.” During the two decades, several changes were made after launch making it one of the most used social networking sites worldwide.
