How many times have you just watched a science fiction film set in the future and been in awe of futuristic vehicles featured in it that hovered in the air? Well, automated cars that fly in the sky may be still a thing of the distant future; but let it be known that the most futuristic car has been revealed almost 6 years back. The Renault automobile was designed by Yuchen Cai, who was 23 years old at the time. It looks like this concept car could only be commercialised in a future, where roadways are equipped with magnet technology. Alternatively, the vehicle known as The Float might be modified to follow magnetic lines that have been specifically constructed. A machine featuring sliding doors, silver bucket seats, and translucent external glass is seen in a video showcasing this amazing concept. Its absence of wheels, however, makes it stand out from the rest; in order to move about, it would use magnetic levitation or Maglev technology.
Other passenger glass pods can be attached to the magnetic belt around its exterior, allowing more passengers to travel with the car. How it will happen can be seen in the video of this car uploaded by YouTube channel called The Wheel Network.
The Float would be non-directional, allowing it to travel in any direction without coming back. Through the magnetic belt that encircles its outside, each pod could be linked to and move in tandem with other pods. Additionally, some might be rented via an app, just like a taxi would be. The Float was created by Yuchen Cai to make use of connected technologies, autonomous driving, and electricity. Her vehicle took first place in the new age of autonomous driving design competition held by French automaker Renault. The Float is still some years away from seeing the light of day, since no country as of yet has the magnetic road technology needed to operate the car. It remains to be seen how long it takes for the Float to hit the roads.
