For a relaxing vacation, people often choose to visit beaches where the water is pristine, there is less crowd and more peace. Hence, islands make for a great getaway-to-peace for such people. The most go-to locations are Spain, France, Portugal or Greece, where people generally jet off to. However, in the United Kingdom, there is a hidden gem for the perfect holiday vacation, where you can disconnect from the world and be far away from the city’s hustle and bustle.
If you are looking for a different kind of getaway this time, you can check out Herm Island which has picture-perfect beaches. What makes it exceptional is the fact that Herm Island has no cars, no crowds and therefore, no stress. You can relax on this British Isle with your family or loved one and enjoy the views of the coastline, the stunning water and much more.
Herm Island is located in the Bailiwick of Guernsey, in the English Channel. No cars can go to this island. This unique island has one hotel which has no TV, phone or clock. The 1.35-mile-long island has holiday cottages and camping locations. The island, reportedly has a population of just 65 people and its surroundings is almost untouched. It has white sandy beaches- its main attraction and spotting dolphins. What will capture your attention is the turquoise blue waters and the contrasting white sand. Apart from one hotel, the other buildings on this small island are two pubs, a fire station, a police station and a primary school with just four students.
You can complete going around the island in just a short period and then spend the entire time on the beach, wine tasting or going on long walks. If you are in luck, you may also occasionally spot seals on the shores.
Albeit cars are not allowed on this island, Herm Island offers a variety of food items which often leaves its guests in awe. The various food options available here include cheese, custards, French and Spanish snacks, burgers, fish, chips and oysters.
