Pakistani Woman Ties Knot With Already Married Man From Rajasthan Via Video Conference
Mehwish, a resident of Lahore, left her two children for love, while Rehman is also married and has two children.

A man from Chiru, Rajasthan, has fallen in love with a Pakistani woman on social media and married her via video conferencing. 25-year-old Mehwish, a resident of Lahore, Pakistan, broke all her ties with her family and married Rehman, a father of two children, from Pithisar village in Churu and now she has reached her in-laws’ house. Mehwish, a resident of Lahore, left her two children for love, while Rehman is also married and has two children. Rehman’s first wife Farida is living with her children at her parental home in Bhadra. Mehwish has been brought by her in-laws from the Wagah border.

Mehwish, formerly employed at a beauty parlour, reported that she hails from Lahore, Pakistan. She lost her mother at the age of 2 and her father, Zulfiqar, passed away about 15 years ago. Twelve years ago, she moved to Islamabad to join her sister, Sahima, where she underwent a 2-month beauty parlour training. She has been working in a beauty parlour for the last decade. In 2006, she married a man from Badami Bagh, with whom she has two sons, now aged 12 and 7. Her first husband abandoned her to marry another woman, and they divorced in 2018.

Mehwish recounted that while living alone, she met 30-year-old Rehman, a resident of Pithisar in Churu, on social media. They began interacting online and then through phone calls, which deepened their affection for each other. Mehwish discussed her feelings with her sister and brother-in-law and proposed marriage to Rehman. Three days later, in 2022, Mehwish married Rehman via video conference. At that time, Rehman was running a transport business in Kuwait. In 2023, Mehwish went to Umrah, where Rehman joined her, and they got married in Mecca.

Rehman, a resident of Pithisar, works in transport in Kuwait. Rehman is the elder of two brothers. His younger brother Salim lives in the village and runs a farming and grocery shop. Rehman’s father Ali Sher is a cattle rearer and farmer. Rehman was married to Bhadra resident Farida in 2011. Rehman has two children. In an interview with Local 18, Rehman’s father and Mehwish’s father-in-law stated that their Pakistani daughter-in-law is taking care of all the household chores, including milking the cows and goats. He mentioned that Mehwish has been enjoying different dishes each day at her in-laws’ house for the past four days, particularly the meat and Indian recipes. Mehwish expressed her appreciation for Indian culture and customs. Additionally, she shared with Local 18 her favourite aspects of Indian movies and TV serials.
