A married couple from Lancashire, United Kingdom named Richard and Debbie Nuttall have captured the headlines for winning a €72,274,808 (Rs 648 crore) EuroMillions jackpot. As per a report published in The Mirror, this Euromillions Jackpot lottery was conducted on January 30. They, however, have not won the full jackpot as the other winning lottery ticket has been purchased in Spain. Still, Richard and Debbie are now the owners of a big sum and they are basking in the glory of its success. They got this news via an email while celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary in Fuerteventura. Fuerteventura is an island located in the Atlantic Ocean. Richard revealed more about this news in an interview with The Mirror.

Richard said, “It was the second day of our holiday and I had got up early to finish off a bit of work. I noticed the email from The National Lottery stating that there was ‘exciting news about your ticket’. So I checked my National Lottery account and saw the balance had gone up and we’d won £2.60. Fair enough.”

Richard added that he closed his laptop, had breakfast and then set off for the day with his wife, driving around the island. He remembered that they enjoyed the sea views, blue skies and windsurfers before heading back. The couple had to search for a proper mobile signal to confirm that they had won one of the lottery tickets.

Richard further said that initially, he thought that the mail about the lottery win was a glitch or a scam. They also couldn’t get to the National Lottery’s number due to the poor mobile signals. They then took the help of their youngest daughter and asked her to log into the National Lottery Account. She confirmed the news and they were on cloud nine. Beaming with happiness, the couple has decided to fly back home. This happened despite they had spent only a few days of their week-long holiday. Now, Richard and Debbie are planning how will they spend this staggering amount of money. They plan to buy a new family home, have a Portugal holiday, etc.
