A social media influencer unintentionally recorded the sound of the gunshot that took the life of her brother. Rebecca Olugbemi was reviewing a skincare product when she heard the sound of bullet shots. Little did she know at the time that the firing was happening just outside their home and it would kill her 27-year-old brother, Isaiah Olugbemi.

Isaiah, an aspiring professional boxer, was shot multiple times moments after he returned home from the gym. He was quickly transported to the nearby hospital, where he was declared dead, leaving the family devastated.

Speaking with NBC Washington, Rebecca said, “He always looked out for everyone and made sure that everyone was good. I just want them to know. And he was just a hard worker. Anything that he wanted, he went after it. I don’t know what justice would look like. I don’t know if there’s anything that could be done that would make it any better.”

According to investigators, CCTV video captured the moment when their neighbour, Nicholas Giroux, walked directly towards Isaiah Olugbemi and shot him while he fell to the ground. Giroux then fled from the scene, however, just a day after the shooting, he was arrested. Police charged him with first and second-degree murder. If the court declares him guilty, he may spend his life in jail. As of now, police are investigating the motive or any previous relationships between the culprit and the victim.

Isaiah’s brother said, “I just want people to know that my brother was a great father, a great man. He just wanted to be nothing but a great boxer.” His other brother Abraham Olugbemi added, “He meant a lot to a lot of people. People from New York drove down here the same day because of what happened. It’s just so tragic, like, so random.”

As per reports, Nicholas Giroux confessed to the crime and handed over a 9mm gun he used for killing Isaiah Olugbemi. Along with his sister and brothers, the victim spent most of his time with his 2-year-old son. Meanwhile, Isaiah was passionate about becoming a professional wrestling champion and had even won a Golden Gloves national championship at 203 pounds recently.
