Woman's Saree Catches Fire While Performing Somersault, Internet Calls It 'Stupidity'
A user was awed at the risk that was taken just to create a video. “All this risk for a reel,” he mentioned.

A shocking video is doing the rounds on the internet in which a woman’s saree catches fire while performing a dangerous stunt. As India gears up to celebrate the festival colours, several content creators have started uploading videos surrounding the theme of Holi in an attempt to gain attention. With creators going to any extent these days, several individuals try to recreate eye-catching videos which sometimes don’t end up well for them. The said viral video showcases a similar set of events in which a gymnast’s saree gets caught on fire while she tries to perform a somersault with Holi crackers tied to her shoes. The video was uploaded on Instagram. The clip has now been played over 1.6 crore times on the platform while also receiving over 1.66 lakh likes.

In the video, the girl can be seen rocking a bright mustard-yellow saree as she climbs up an iron pole to perform the somersault. As she hangs from the pole, one individual comes and lights up the firecrackers that are tied to her shoes. As the crackers go off, the girl completes a full 360-degree flip before her saree catches sparks of fire. This leads to the gymnast letting go of the pole and dropping to her feet. Several people rush to her as she tries to get rid of the crackers tied to her shoes. The people surrounding her then start to extinguish the fire by stomping the crackers to the ground, preventing anything big from happening.

The video has now received a mixed bag of reactions with most people feeling that the stunt was unsafe and foolish. One of the replies read, “Omg pls take care, don’t take risk”. Another also seemed to be concerned about the gymnast as she wrote, “Be careful dear.” A user pointed out that the gymnast’s videos were attractive but they lacked safety. “Your reels are good but safety is missing,” he wrote. Another was awed at the risk that was taken just to create a video. “All this risk for a reel,” he mentioned. A reply pointed out that safety should be the primary concern when making such videos, “Safety is first priority.” An account tried to look towards the funnier side of the clip as he pointed towards the gymnast’s hilarious expression in the video’s beginning. He said, “Expression at the start”.

As the festival of colours is just around the corner, people must refrain themselves from such stunts. Instead of making dangerous videos, one should be focused on spreading the true essence of the festivity.
