JuD not linked to LeT, won't be banned: Pakistan
The statement from a Pakistan minister came even as a United Nations resolution clearly said that the JuD is simply an alias for LeT.

Pakistan has claimed that there is no link between terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and its affiliate Jamat-ud-dawa (JuD). The neighbouring country also ruled out any “scope for banning JuD anytime in near future”.

The claim was made on Tuesday on the Senate Floor by Minister for States and Frontier Abdul Kadir Baloch, reflecting the official stand of the Pakistan government on the issue.

The statement from the Pakistan minister came even as a United Nations resolution clearly said that the JuD is simply an alias for LeT.

The issue is likely to be taken up as a talking point when Prime Ministers Narendra Modi meets his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif on Friday on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Russia.
