Kate Middleton made a surprise appearance ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympic closing ceremony on Sunday, joining her husband, Prince William, and extended their support to all the British athletes for their participation in the summer games.
In a video shared by Kensington Palace on X, the royal couple, along with celebrities such as American rapper Snoop Dogg, former England footballer David Beckham, and retired Olympian Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill, congratulated Team GB.
“Well done @TeamGB, what an incredible journey! Every athlete showed immense dedication, heart and passion. You made us all so proud!,” the post stated.

The 1-minute, 20-second video features the Prince and Princess of Wales delivering their message for nearly 6 seconds.
Dressed in a casual white shirt with black stripes, Kate said, “From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB.” Meanwhile, William, wearing a blue polo shirt adorned with the Olympic rings, added, “Well done with all you’ve achieved. You’ve been an inspiration to us all.”
The video also features messages from Rebecca Adlington, Sir Chris Hoy, Mark Chapman, Colin Jackson, and other prominent British figures.
Kate’s unexpected appearance delighted royal fans, but it was Prince William’s new beard—an unusual look for the usually clean-shaven royal—that stole the spotlight, with many viewers praising his fresh appearance.
Since stepping back from royal duties in January and announcing she was receiving cancer treatment in March, Kate has made few public appearances. She has since been seen at Trooping the Colour and the Wimbledon men’s singles final, Daily mail reported.
