Ashok Leyland Launches West African Headquarters in Ivory Coast, Introduces 4 New Models
With the introduction of these four left-hand driven vehicles, Ashok Leyland is making a strong statement in its growing international presence.

Ashok Leyland, the flagship company of the Hinduja Group, announced significant investments in the African continent and today, has launched its West African Headquarters in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. This modern facility comprises of the Regional Marketing Office, Genuine SpareParts Warehouse (Leyparts), Training Centre and 12 fully-equipped Workshop Bays, marks its enhanced commitment to the Road Transport Development Fund. Ivory Coast emerges in Ashok Leyland’s global footprint and will serve as a central location for the Francophone region.

Further strengthening its outreach here, Ashok Leyland, today, unveiled four dynamic products: Captain, Boss, Hawk and Mitr. With the introduction of these four left-hand driven vehicles, Ashok Leyland is making a strong statement in its growing international presence. Products with modified vehicle specifications have been introduced to suit the needs Ivorian customers.

The launch ceremonies took place in the distinguished presence of the Honorable Minister Mr. Amadou Kone, Minister of Transport in Ivory Coast, Mr. Ravindra Kumar, Ambassador of India in Ivory Coast and Mr. Rajive Saharia, President of Global Sales & Distribution, representing senior management from Ashok Leyland.

Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Rajive Saharia, President Global Sales & Distribution, Ashok Leyland said, “At Ashok Leyland, we believe in setting new benchmarks in everything we do. The inauguration of this facility is a big-step towards offering specialized after-sales solutions to our customers in Ivory Coast and crafting trust for our brand. This one-stop destination further underlines our commitment to the government of Ivory Coast. For us, Africa is important for the company’s global growth. With comprehensive plans for the West African region and an instrumental partnership with the Government of Ivory Coast, Ashok Leyland is all set to consolidate its efforts towards making Ivory Coast a central automotive hub for West Africa."

Further commenting, on the products, Mr. Saharia said, “The new line-up of vehicles is going to develop the logistic network of the country. Connectivity is going to change isolated local markets to major national markets. While taking up this initiative, we have just not restricted ourselves to providing vehicles to the transporters, but build a homogenous community of entrepreneurs in this country. Our partners will ensure that the Ivorian people receive the required funding at low interest rates. The process that Ashok Leyland has put in place will not only increase connectivity but will also create direct and indirect job opportunities."
