Hyundai unveiled the new generation i20 Coupe which is positioned as a three door B-segment car. The car is targeted at young customers as an extension of the i20's appeal.
The i20 Coupe gets raked A, B, and C-pillars that are "markedly different from the five-door model", according to Hyundai and are claimed to lend the car a sportier profile.
The front of the car breaks away from the traditional Hyundai styling traits. The new hexagonal front grille is placed inside the new bumper. Wheel arches dominate the rear quarter of the coupe leading to a new rear bumper design. Despite its sportier appearance, Hyundai claims the i20 Coupe is still a practical car with a 336-litre boot. A Tangerine Orange shade has been introduced with a matching orange interior colour option. It also features a new 17-inch alloy wheel design and rear spoiler, among other styling enhancements.
The engines are Euro 6 compliant and choices include two petrol in two states of tune - 84PS and 100PS. There are two diesel motors also available - one making 75PS and another, 90PS. The 1.4-litre Kappa petrol engine will be made available once the coupe is launched in Europe. Hyundai plans to introduce a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol later in 2015.
