The leading car manufacturer Kia is all set to kickstart the EV production facility in India. Yes! You read it right, The news has been confirmed by the company during an EV day event in Korea.
While addressing the event, the company’s top official said that the upcoming factory will not only create electric products locally for the domestic market, it will considered as the production hub for emerging markets worldwide as well.
Kia Production Facilities Worldwide
As per the details shared by the company, a total of eight production facilities have been planned so far, where Korea will remain in the center category, working as the main hub. The small and medium-segment electric vehicles will be manufactured in the European market. While China will cater to the mid and large segment of electric-powered cars.
Kia EV Exclusive Showroom in India
During the event, the company also informed that India soon will have dedicated exclusive showrooms for a wide range of EVs, providing customers with a world-class expirence in the segment.
Upcoming Kia EVs’
Kia also unveiled three new models in the electric segment including the EV5 SUV, a concept model that was showcased in a concept in China this year, the EV3 SUV, and a radical EV4 sedan.
As far as the upcoming product in the market is concerned, the company working on EV9 for quite a long time. Now, it seems like the vehicle might hit the market next year. However, the company has not revealed official details about the launch as yet.
Kia’s Future Investment in EV Segment
Meanwhile, the South Korean carmaker plans to take the electric-powered EV culture to the top level. In order to achieve this goal, the company is planning to invest between 30,000 to 80,000 US dollars in the segment.
