The Japan-based auto giant Luxus has finally started dispatching the much-awaited RX 500h F Sport Performance SUV in India. The customers who have already pre-booked the vehicle, now can expect the delivery any time soon.
The king-size SUV was launched last year in April. It was introduced at the starting price of Rs 95.80 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top model goes up to Rs 1.18 crore (ex-showroom). It was offered in two variants -RX 350h Luxury and RX 500h F Sport Performance.
Engine and Power
The SUV is treated with a long list of robust features, featuring a powerful 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. The unit is equipped with a hybrid transaxle, which generates a max power of 247bhp and 242Nm of peak torque. The unit delivers the power via CVT transmission, making it perfect all-wheel drive.
It has been claimed by the brand that the SUV is capable of doing a 0 to 100km/h sprint in just 7.9 seconds, and comes with a top speed of 200km/h. When it comes to the top model, it gets a 2.4-litre turbo-petrol engine. This setup is equipped with a Direct4 hybrid electric system, generating a max power of 361bhp and 460Nm of torque.
Top Speed and Acceleration
The unit is mated with a 6-speed transmission, allowing it to unleash the claimed 0-100km/h acceleration in just 6.2 seconds, slightly better than the above-mentioned trim. It comes with a bigger top speed number 210km/h.
Design and Rivals
Talking about the design elements, the SUV shares the company’s signature body style statement, featuring an appealing dark finish grill at the front, LED treatment at both ends with stylish DRLs. As far as the rivals are concerned, it competes against the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Range Rover Velar, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Audi Q7 and Jaguar F-Pace.
