The Maruti Suzuki Swift has been one of the most successful car in its segment for the longest of time and has managed to grab a constant spot in the top selling cars in India almost every month, in the past few years. The Maruti Suzuki Swift recently got an update which brought along significant exterior and interior design changes as well as a new list of features. But for those who are using the older generation of the Swift, there seems to be a new way of making it a bit more special.
A video has been going around on social media and is being talked about by car customizers as a 2006 model year Swift has been modified to look like a Maruti Suzuki Baleno – the company’s flagship hatchback offering in the country.
As seen in the video, the car has been fitted with hood scoops at the front, the outside rear view mirrors and the roof has been given a contrast white finish and the C-pillar has been blacked out to give it the ‘floating roof’ appeal, similar to the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. The biggest giveaway, however, is that the car has been fitted with the Baleno’s front grille.
The changes continue on the inside as well, as the Swift has been given a double contrast stitching in red on the dashboard, a custom-made armrest, black interior theme with wood vinyl finishing on the doors and the seats have been bolstered as well.
The video description states that the 2006 Swift had a resale price of about Rs 40,000 as it was a second-owner car and was in a pretty bad shape. The car was then given spare parts worth Rs 55,000 and when you add the paint and labour cost of Rs 45,000 to it, it does make for an out-of-the-crowd Swift for a modification cost of less than Rs 1 lakh.

While this may not be to the taste of all existing Swift owners as looks are subjective, but it does give an insight into ways that can be undertaken to make your car different from the rest.
