MG Motors India is all set to launch the facelifted version of its Gloster SUV in India.
Expected to be unveiled by next year, the company has already started testing it on Indian roads as the heavily camouflaged MG Gloster SUV was recently spotted.
The prototype of the Gloster SUV had heavy covers on the entire body as it went out for its testing, giving a hint about some major changes to the exterior. While the car comes as a major rival to Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour, more details about the SUV’s features are yet to be revealed by the company.
As the images of the camouflaged SUV went viral, the three-row vehicle has some visible elements like a roof spoiler with an integrated high-mounted stop lamp, rear wiper with washer, dual exhaust tip, side steps, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and door-mounted ORVMs.

MG Gloster SUV: Features and Engine
Considering the heavy camouflage, while some major changes can be expected on the exterior, adding a fresh appeal to the facelifted MG, the company is likely to have revised taillights, a new bumper, and repositioned reflectors. Apart from that, the interior is also expected to get some changes with new elements on the dashboard, new colour schemes, and updated features making it more desirable.
Speaking about the engine of the MG Gloster SUV, the company will offer the same engine options that include a 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 161 HP and 375 Nm of torque and a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine producing 215 HP and 480 Nm torque. While the engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, there are no petrol engines on offer.
In the meantime, the MG Gloster is already feature-loaded with elements like an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), panoramic sunroof, 12-speaker sound system, 360-degree parking camera, power driver’s seat with heating, ventilation, and many other technologies.
MG Gloster Launch
While the MG Gloster facelift is expected to arrive in the Indian markets sometime in 2024, it will continue its rivalry with automobile giants like Toyota Fortuner and Jeep Meridian among others in the full-size SUV segment.
Notably, the MG Gloster entered the Indian market back in 2020 as a prime rival to the existing rulers in the segment that is the Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour that too at a time when the two vehicles were a bit pricier compared to the Gloster SUV.
