Noida: Botanical Garden Wins Best Metro Station Award
The Delhi metro started running its first route between Shahadra and Tis Hazari on December 25, 2002.

Noida’s Botanical Garden Metro Station has been adjudged the best station award, as per a statement issued by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

The Shastri Park depot, on the other hand, was conferred with the title of the best metro depot. The DMRC on Friday had celebrated its 30th foundation day at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.

The DMRC in an official statement also highlighted notable awards received by its employees for their exceptional contributions over the past year.

The Annual Awards are presented to acknowledge the terrific contributions and dedication. Best station and best depot awards are observed annually and are presented in consideration of several elements including station maintenance, cleanliness, customer feedback, and train maintenance (in the case of depots.)

The DMRC honored over 70 employees with the annual managing director’s award for their contributions over the last year. Priti Kumari, Senior Station Manager, received the metro woman of the year award, while Mohammad Abdussueb Ahamad bagged the metro man of the year award, as reported by TOI.

A senior station manager, Gopesh Kumar Verma was also honoured with a special award for his notable contribution in using and promoting the Raj Bhasha.

Adding to that, an assistant manager security, Vijendra Singh also won an award, His immediate action in reporting a molestation case at the Mandi House metro station helped the police in working out the sensitive matter, as per news agency PTI.

The DMRC opened its first corridor between Shahadra and Tis Hazari on December 25, 2002. Currently, the Delhi metro encompasses around 392 kilometers with 288 stations (including Noida-Greater Noida Corridor and Rapid Metro in Gurugram). These metro trains work on Communication Bases Train Control (CBTC) signaling technology which enables train movements at very short frequencies.

Also, the NMRC (Noida Metro Rail Corporation) recently unveiled a restaurant with a unique theme of a metro rail coach at the Noida Sector 137 Metro Station.

The innovative concept aims to provide passengers with a new fine dining experience similar to a metro train. The restaurant is currently operational on a trial basis and is open from 11:30 AM to 12:00 AM.
