After ending 2013 on a high with the new Octavia, Skoda India will open its 2014 calendar with the launch of the facelifted Superb. The flagship limo from the Czech carmaker underwent its mid-life makeover a few months back for the European market and was later spotted testing in India.
The updated Superb wears a completely new fascia - the new Skoda grille and logo, revised bumper and fenders, a new bonnet like the one seen on the new Octavia, and new headlamps which retain the older shape but have a revised detailing behind the smoked lens.
The headlamps will also feature daytime running LEDs. The taillights too get a LED treatment. The boot is redesigned as well and has an Audi-ish form to it. The rear registration plate has moved from the rear bumper, up to the boot-lid.
The Superb facelift also debuts new alloy-wheel designs. Skoda's made minor changes to the interiors of the Superb as well. In Europe, the carmaker offers a choice of steering wheel designs and it would be interesting to see if Skoda India too introduces this customization option.
