17-year-old Wows Indian Idol Judges With Her Rendition Of Dama Dam Mast Qalandar
Shivani Swamy was one of the 13,000 contestants who were selected in the competition and is the only contestant from Karnataka on the show currently.

Shivani Shivdas Swamy from the city of Bidar is the only contestant from Karnataka who is part of the famous music reality show Indian Idol Season 14. Recently, the little girl left the judges shocked as she set the stage on fire with her powerful performance. The judging panel features famous singers like Shreya Ghoshal, Vishal Dadlani and Kumar Sanu.

Shivani Swamy was one of the 13,000 contestants who were selected in the competition. Recently, her audition video went viral where she won the hearts of the audience and judges. Shivani sang the song, Dama Dam Mast Qalandar. Shivani Swamy is a 17-year-old girl who is a devotee of Lord Shiva. She wore an Ishtalinga around her neck and then left everyone’s jaw drop on the floor with her performance.

After removing her footwear, she began singing the song by the musical maestro Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and mesmerised the audience with her voice. She flaunted her singing prowess with the song which was received with much applause from the audience.

Shivani made a list of songs which surprised the judges. The young girl has written 20 songs on the list, which truly has left the Ye Ishq Hai singer shocked. When she presented the list to the judges, music director-singer Vishal Dadlani cracked a joke and said that Shivani had presented them with a singing menu, like a food menu in a hotel.

Previously, in 2020 Shivani Swamy participated in Zee TV’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and was the first runner-up. She also secured the top position in the Pride of Telangana competition which was hosted in Hyderabad. She had also participated in Maharashtra Cha Awaaz and made Karnataka’s Bidar proud.

At such a young age, her immense contributions to the world of music have been recognised by the Kalyan Karnataka Artistes Union in Bidar who honoured her with the Kalayan Kala Ratna Award. She was also a part of the Bidari folk singing competition organised by the Bidari Cultural Forum.
