The movie will be directed by Sukesh Nayak and will explore a historical subject which is set during the pre-independence period.
The film is expected to show the British era, specifically in 1857. The movie will be made in five languages and will be the first pan-India movie for the actor. It will revolve around the story of the community of hunters, as per reports. These communities are said to be groups of people who posed obstacles for Britishers in the east of India.
While interacting with Cinema Express, Sukesh Nayak said that it took him two and a half years to write the script. While explaining the same, he added that the story of the movie is about the Beda community, renowned as hunters and warriors who played a prominent role in defeating the British during the First War of Independence in 1857. The heroic stories of these hunters are still prevalent in the regions of North Karnataka.
Krishna said that he is working out twice a day to get fit for the role and has already lost 5 kg. To give the authentic touch to the role, the actor will be learning horse riding as well. The shooting of Halagali will start in January 2024. The makers have initially planned for 150 days of the shoot. The filming will take place in different locations across Karnataka and it is expected that the major portion will be shot in North Karnataka.
When asked about the language of the movie, the Kannada actor said that it had not been decided by then. A common language is likely to be followed in the movie, the actor added.
