Minerva Mills, Where KGF And Kabzaa Were Shot, To Be Shut Down: Reports
As per reports, a mall has been built next to Minerva Mills. Hence, there is a possibility that a big building would come up or some other work might start soon.

Kannada cinema has given numerous action-oriented movies which have captivated the attention of the audience each time. Some became blockbusters while others remained average over the years. The recent Kannada movies are being appreciated for their intense actions and huge sets. KGF, Kabzaa and Ugram are some of the action thriller movies which, apart from sharing success at the box office, have one more thing in common. They were all shot at the studio Minerva Mills which is located in Central Bengaluru.

In recent years, Minerva Mills has been the favourite location for the director to shoot the underworld and action scenes, but that might not be possible anymore. As per reports, the Lulu Mall has been built next to the Minerva Mills. Hence, there is a possibility that a big building would come up in place of the studio or some other work might start soon at this place. This news has come as a shock to the Kannada cinema.

There are a handful of studios in Bengaluru. Abhaiah Naidu Studio, Abhiman Studio and Kanteerava Studio are some of the most used places for the Kannada director and hence are found busy most of the time. However, the first choice of the directors for the high-octane action scenes has always been Minerva Mills. Countless movies have been shot at this place. As per reports, it is believed that Shivarajkumar’s upcoming movie Ghost was the last film which was shot at this place.

Minerva Mills is not a fully equipped studio like Abhaiah Naidu Studio. One who has worked there knows that it’s a ruined place. However, it became the ideal location for several mass movies such as KGF, Kabzaa and the upcoming movie Ghost. Thousand of fighting scenes have been shot at this place. Due to its ruined structure and industrial look, Minerva Mills has become the most suitable place for shooting scenes of the underworld. The location of this place is also ideal for many producers as it is located in Central Bengaluru.

While interacting with TV9 Kannada, the art director of KGF Sivakumar said that the shoot for the Chapter 1 of the movie took place for approximately 45 days at Minerva Mills. KGF 2 scenes were also shot here.
