What Actor Vishal Said About The Ongoing Cauvery Water Dispute

Actor Vishal has recently shared his views regarding the ongoing Cauvery River row. He called upon the governments of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka to collaboratively address the longstanding water dispute. Vishal emphasised that this issue has plagued both states for an extended period, and it is imperative to seek a lasting resolution.

During a success party event for his recent film, Mark Antony, held in Chennai, Vishal made these statements. He stressed the importance of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka uniting in their efforts to ensure a fair and sustainable sharing of Cauvery water resources. Vishal reiterated the need for both governments to collaborate in resolving this issue, expressing his hope for a favourable outcome.

Talking about Mark Antony, Vishal mentioned that the success of the film will indeed contribute to helping farmers. He suggested that assistance for farmers would be determined based on the estimated number of people who have watched the film, indicating a commitment to support the agricultural community. Vishal stated, “If scholarships, medical aid, and education subsidies are provided, I consider it as a benefit rather than abuse.” He encouraged the official announcement of any positive initiatives.

Kannada actor Ananth Nag recently joined the discourse on the Cauvery water dispute too, advocating for a more resolute position from the Karnataka government. He expressed concern that the AIADMK government in Tamil Nadu may have manipulated public sentiment, emphasising the need for a clear and accurate response from the Karnataka government.

Ananth Nag underscored that the Cauvery water dispute extends beyond Bengaluru, Mandya, and Mysuru, impacting the entirety of Karnataka. He asserted that the water directed towards Tamil Nadu serves agricultural and industrial purposes, ultimately flowing into the sea, rather than being utilised for drinking water. He called upon Karnataka’s MLAs, MPs, and Chief Minister to unite in addressing and resolving the Cauvery water dispute definitively. He emphasised the necessity for a more assertive stance from the Karnataka government and stressed the importance of Kannadigars standing together to safeguard their rights in this matter.

In response to ongoing protests within the state, the Karnataka government has pledged to take every essential measure to safeguard the interests of its people and farmers, assuring the supply of water for both agricultural purposes and drinking water.
