Pankaj Tripathi Drops Hint About Stree 2 To Fans: 'Balak, Kyun Darna...'

Last year, Stree 2 finally went on floors in Chanderi, a town in Madhya Pradesh where the first installment of the horror-comedy franchise was also set. The shoot of the film starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee is currently underway. On Friday, Pankaj dropped a major hint about the film’s sequel.

In the recent Ask Me Anything session on Reddit, Pankaj was asked, “Any updates for Stree 2?”. The actor then shared a gif which read ‘Risk Hai’ and wrote, ‘Balak, kyun darna chahte ho?’

Pankaj Tripathi is currently basking in the success of his recently released film ‘Main Atal Hoon’. The actor essays the role of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the film. The film captures the life and times of the statesman and poet.

Earlier in an interview with News18, the actor shared was quite nervous before taking on the role. “I was a little reluctant when this film came my way. I wasn’t sure. I thought I wouldn’t be able to do it. The makers told me, ‘You’re the only option. If you don’t do it, the film won’t get made.’ I was so overwhelmed when they told me so.”

News18 Showsha gave the film 3.5 stars and wrote, “What works wonderfully for the film is Tripathi’s performance as Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The fact that the actor doesn’t try to modulate his voice or consciously pick up the mannerisms is a wise decision. With deft nuance and the assistance of minimal makeup, the actor transforms into the former prime minister and delivers a pitch-perfect portrayal. It is his terrific performance that makes you invested in the film, overshadows the flaws and leaves a lasting impact.”

The review further added, “Despite its flaws, Main Atal Hoon is an honest attempt, powered by a stellar performance by Pankaj Tripathi. The biopic rises above an inconsistent screenplay to present an intriguing political career.”
