How To Link Your CGHS Beneficiary ID With Ayushman Bharat Health Account ID
The central government has mandated the link of the CGHS beneficiary ID with Ayushman Bharat ID by 30 April 2024.

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in its memorandum has mandated the linking of Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) beneficiary ID with Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID from April 1. The directive requires all current beneficiaries to link their CGHS beneficiary IDs with ABHA IDs, thus completing the linking process within the next 30 days. While the linking process will begin on April 1, the deadline has been set till April 30, 2024.

The decision has been taken in a bid to create digital health identification of CGHS beneficiaries and store their digital health records. With the memorandum issued with immediate effect, here are the given steps that a CGHS beneficiary needs to follow to register his/her ABHA ID and link it. In case, the beneficiary has already created an ABHA number, they can directly start from Point 10.

How to link CGHS ID to ABHA ID?

1. Go to the official website of https://cghs.nic.in

2. Click on the ‘Beneficiaries’ options in the menu.

3. Select ‘Beneficiary Login’ and enter your beneficiary ID, password, and captcha. In case, the password is not known, the user can generate or reset the password.

4. An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number.

5. Upon completing this process, to create a link and create your ABHA ID, go to the Update menu and click on Create/Link Abha ID.

6. Click on ‘I don’t have ABHA number’

7. Next, enter your Aadhaar number

8. Read all the terms and conditions and give consent.

8. Enter the OTP and verify it.

9. Following this, users can check the link status. If the details are matched, one can get a printout.

10. Once the ABHA ID is obtained, enter the same in the link using a number in the Consent Collection.

11. Enter the OTP received on the registered number and verify it.

12. Next, one will be able to see the status of the CGHS beneficiary ID and ABHA ID. If the details match, a printout can be taken.

It is important to note that the Central Government Health Scheme was started in 1954 to provide comprehensive health care to central government employees, pensioners, and their dependent family members. Presently over 41 lakh beneficiaries are covered by the scheme across the country.
