The 16th instalment of Rs. 2,000 was released to eligible farmers of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana on February 28, 2024. This instalment covers the period from December 2023 to March 2024. Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 16th instalment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Over Rs 21,000 crore was disbursed to more than 9 crore farmers through DBT.
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a new central sector scheme to provide income support to all landholding farmers’ families in the country to supplement their financial needs for procuring various inputs related to agriculture and allied activities as well as domestic needs. Under the scheme, the entire financial liability towards the transfer of benefits to targeted beneficiaries will be borne by the central government.
PM Kisan Instalment Not Received?
If you are one of the farmers who have not received Rs 2,000 yet, then you can register a complaint against it.
The beneficiaries, whose names are uploaded on the PM Kisan portal by the concerned state/UT in a particular 4-monthly period, shall be entitled to receive the benefit for that period with effect from that 4-monthly period itself. lf they do not receive the payment of instalment about that 4-monthly period and subsequent instalments for any reason, except due to rejection for falling within the exclusion criteria, they are entitled to receive the benefits of all the due instalments as and when the cause of delay is removed/resolved.
For example, if an eligible farmer’s name has been uploaded on the PM KISAN portal during the 4-monthly period of December 2022 – March 2023, he/she is entitled to get the instalment pertaining to December 2022 – March 2023 period, and also all subsequent instalments. Further. If the eligible farmer’s name is uploaded on the portal during the 4-monthly period of April-July, 2024 he/she is entitled to get the instalment pertaining to April-July, 2023 period and also all subsequent instalments.
Apart from the above circumstances, if the instalment doesn’t come, beneficiaries can file a complaint, however, they must check their name in the list.
