Hand painting
Find the colors you want them to be. Remember, zinnias come in many colors like red, purple, pink, and orange, so get creative!
Flip your pinecone upside down and paint the entire cone, you may want a bigger paintbrush for easier application.
Let this air dry for 30 to 45 minutes, or until the paint is completely dry.
Take yellow puffy paint, or normal paint if you don't have that, and paint the middle of the zinnia with a small brush or if you are using puffy paint, just use the nozzle. The puffy paint is for texture, it is completely optional.
Enjoy! Make a lot of them and put them in a basket for a pretty decoration, perfect for spring and summer. You can paint them orange, white, and blue with, sparkles for the winter and fall.
Dipping
Take the desired paint, and pour into a disposable bowl or cup. This is to dip the cones in so make sure they fit completely in.
Take your pine cones and dip them completely in, making sure the entire cone is covered. Let it air dry.
Take yellow puffy paint, or normal paint, and paint the middle of the bottom cone. The puffy paint is optional, as it is only for. the texture.
Voila! You have your very own zinnias that don't need to be cared for and are cheap and easy to make. Enjoy!
