Hyderabad: Satyam Computer founder B Ramalinga Raju, the main accused in the fraud case in the IT giant, has applied for bail in Andhra Pradesh High Court citing medical reasons.
Raju also pointed while moving his bail application on Tuesday that all other five accused have been released on bail. He also claimed that the Central Bureau of Investigation was trying to falsely implicate him in the multi-crore accounting fraud that allegedly took place in Satyam while he was heading the company.
The High Court had granted bail to B Rama Raju, former Satyam managing director and brother of the main accused, and four others on July 20.
Raju has avoided appearing before the special court constituted for the Satyam case, claiming a Hepatitis-C affliction. He had revealed the multi-crore accounting fraud at Satyam on January 7, 2009.
The 21 Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court trying the Satyam scam case on Monday posted the examination and hearing of charges against the accused to July 29.
Examination and hearing of charges against 10 Satyam personnel accused of fudging books of account of the company will commence on July 29.
Except Raju, who is in judicial remand and undergoing treatment for Hepatitis-C at the Nizam Institute of Medical Science (NIMS), all the nine accused, who are out on bail, were present in the court in Hyderabad on Monday.
