The dense forests of South India are filled with the stories of Veerappan, a bandit who was known for terrorising and kidnapping people. His intriguing tale has often left people curious and thus Netflix came up with a show named The Hunt for Veerappan. Now, it looks like the audience is in for yet another Veerapan documentary series which will provide insight into his life.
Recently, the trailer of the documentary series, Koose Munisamy Veerappan was revealed. As per the trailer, the documentary series will provide viewers with a glimpse into Veerappan’s life through unseen footage. The trailer shows a number of people discussing the life and enigmatic demeanour of the bandit and reveals several stories about him.
Koose Munisamy Veerappan is created by Jeyachandra Hashmi, Prabhavathi RV and Vasanth Balakrishnan. It will feature speakers like Nakkheeran Gopal, Seeman, N Ram, Pa Pa Mohan, Subbu alias Subramanyan, Alexander IPS, Rohini, Jeeva Thangavel, Mohan Kumar, and Dhamayanthi.
Koose Munisamy Veerappan will be available for streaming on Zee5 from December 8. The plotline as per the makers is that the series will explore the intriguing life of Veerappan “as he guides us through his journey using never-before-seen video tapes”. The audience will be able to gain new insights through the perspective of renowned personalities along with various reimaginations of events in the series.

Veerappan was a bandit, an Indian poacher, a smuggler and a domestic terrorist who is known to have kidnapped prominent politicians and demanded ransoms. He was also accused of smuggling sandalwood and poaching elephants from the forests region of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala. He was wanted for the murder of about 184 people out of which the majority were forest officials or police officers. He was also declared wanted for the poaching of about 2,000 elephants and for smuggling ivory worth Rs 16 crore.
