A grand success meet of the recently-released film Leo was organised yesterday at the Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai. The film’s cast and crew graced the event with their presence. Among the attendees were director Lokesh Kanagaraj, screenwriters Rathna Kumar and Deeraj Vaidy, and actors including Thalapathy Vijay, Trisha, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, George Maryan, Madonna Sebastian, Mansoor Ali Khan, and Mathew Thomas. During the event, actors and directors heaped praises on Thalapathy Vijay for his impeccable performance in the film. Actor-filmmaker Mysskin called Thalapathy Vijay a legend and compared him to Bruce Lee and Michael Jackson. He said, “I have only read about two legends in my life: Bruce Lee and Michael Jackson. And the only legend I saw through my eyes is actor Vijay.” Calling him a “real hero” who tasted success through hard work, Mysskin said that he can’t understand how an actor could attract everyone for over 25 years. “My wish is to see him in a James Bond-like role.”
The event also witnessed Thalapathy Vijay indulging in a heart-to-heart conversation with his fans and urging them to avoid falling prey to toxicity on social media and focus on their dreams. He said, “A real hero is not someone who achieves what’s easy; a real hero is the one who aims big. Dream big; nobody can call your dreams too big to be true.” Speaking about films as a mode of entertainment, he said that the audience should watch it just as cinema and not get affected. He added, “That’s how it is perceived across the world, as a product of a creator’s imagination. Take the positives and let go of the negatives.”
Lokesh Kanagaraj expressed his gratitude to the cast and crew members of Leo and said, “If this film got such unbelievable receptions in non-Tamil states, that is only because of Vijay sir.”
Leo was released worldwide on October 19. Headlined by Thalapathy Vijay, the film emerged as a massive hit and has minted Rs 540 crore at the box office.
