It looks like Team India’s aggressive show against Bangladesh for the second Test has already resonated with many young stars. At just 13 years of age, the young Vaibhav Suryavanshi has lit up the M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai to strike a fantastic century for India’s U19 side who took on Australia’s U19 team in a youth Test.
Just like how Rohit Sharma’s side, managed to topple multiple records during the Kanpur Test, Suryavanshi has also followed suit as he continues to impress at the youth level.
The youngster ended his knock at 104 runs in 62 deliveries after which he was dismissed via run-out by Christian Howe.
As a result of his knock, he also now becomes the youngest ever to score a century in the youth Test format. He pipped the likes of Nasir Jamshed of Pakistan, Mehidy Hasan Miraz of Bangladesh and other Pakistan stars like Ahmed Shehzad and Hasan Raza to take the record.
In addition to this, he also becomes the second fastest centurion in the youth Test format and also the fastest ton by an Indian in the format. According to a report by Indian Express, he is behind the former England international, Moeen Ali who scored a century in 56 deliveries back in 2005.
The young prodigy has already made his debut in the first-class format where he represented Bihar for two games.
