Pakistan’s T20I captain Babar Azam is one of the best batters of present times and enjoys huge popularity in Pakistan. But one of his recent acts while posing for a photo with a fan has left everyone stunned. In a video going viral on the internet, the 29-year-old right-handed batter from Lahore can be seen removing a fan’s hand from his shoulder when he tried to pose for a photo with him.
However, despite pushing away the hand, Babar acknowledged the fan’s request and clicked a selfie with him. The incident occurred ahead of the Champions One-Day Cup 2024, which is set to start on September 12.

Despite being the captain of Pakistan’s T20I team, Babar was not named as the captain. He will play for Stallions in the five-team tournament under Mohammad Haris’ captaincy. Apart from him, Test captain Shan Masood was also not appointed as skipper of any of the five teams.
Saud Shakeel will lead the Dolphins, and star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi was named as the captain of the Lions. The 24-year-old left-arm pacer was dropped from Pakistan’s team for the second Test against Bangladesh, which Shan Masood’s men lost by six wickets at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Mohammad Rizwan and Shadab Khan will lead the Wolves and Panthers, respectively.
Babar in poor form
Babar is going through a lean patch these days. He was a big flop for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2024 with the bat, and under his leadership, Men in Green also suffered a shocking defeat against the USA in the first match played in Dallas on June 6. In the second match against India, Pakistan failed to chase down the target of 120 runs against India in New York and got knocked out of the 20-team tournament.
In the four innings of two Tests against Bangladesh, he was only able to score 0, 22, 31, and 11 runs, respectively. Babar, who hasn’t scored fifty in his last 16 Test innings for Pakistan, will aim to bounce back quickly and come up with big shows in the upcoming matches to make a case for selection in the Pakistan team for a three-match Test series against England next month.
