India and Australia are battling each other in the final of the ICC U19 World Cup in South Africa.

Australia won the toss and opted to have a bat first as they sought to set a target for the defending champions to chase.

The holders got a good start as pacer Raj Limbani picked up the scalp of Australian opener Sam Konstas with a peach of a delivery.

Australia lost the wicket of Konstas when they had made 19 runs, but Harry Dixon and Hugh Weibgen steadied the innings before Dixon was dismissed off Tiwari’s bowling as Abhishek held on to the catching opportunity after the Aussie had made 42 runs.

Weibgen was next to go as Tiwari picked up a twin dismissal thanks to Musheer Khan picking up the catch of the batter.

Australia had Harjas Singh and Ryan Hicks were at the crease as Australia crossed the 150-run mark in 30 overs.

India began their U19 campaign in South Africa with a win over Bangladesh by 84 runs, before routing both Ireland and the USA by 201 runs, on both occasions, to qualify for the Super Sixes top of Group A.

The Indian youngsters continued their dominant run in the tournament with a huge win over New Zealand as they thrashed the Kiwis by 214 runs, before easing past the challenge posted by Nepal, which they won by 132 runs.

The semifinal of the tournament was the closest contest India had to face as they punched their ticket to the summit clash with a 2-wicket win over hosts South Africa.
