UP Warriroz (UPW) captain Alyssa Healy confronted a pitch invader on Wednesday night when her side locked horns with reigning champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 match no. 6 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The game was halted for a brief period of time as the Aussie wicketkeeper-batter stopped a fan who had breached the security cover to enter the field of play.
The incident happened in the final ball of MI’s innings when pacer Anjali Sarvani dismissed Sajeevan Sajana on the penultimate delivery. Though the incident wasn’t aired, several pictures of the same were shared on social media which are now going viral.

Australia’s ABC Sports also shared the image with a caption which reads, “Alyssa Healy has tackled a pitch invader in the WPL overnight. Don’t mess with an Aussie when they’re locked in!”

UP Warriroz register their maiden win
The Warriroz bounced back on Wednesday with a 6-wicket win against Mumbai Indians. The duo of Kiran Navgire and Alyssa Healy, UP’s newest opening pair, unleashed a remarkable assault on MI attack to wrap things up with 21 balls to spare.
Navigre (57) and Healy (33) added 94 runs for the opening wicket stand in just 9.1 overs as the Warriorz eased past the 162-run target in 16.4 overs to hand the defending champions their first defeat of the season.
Mumbai batting suffered in the absence of skipper and in-form batter Harmanpreet Kaur, who is nursing a niggle, as a laboured 55 off 47 balls from Hayley Matthews guided them to 161 for six. It was a competitive total but the Mumbai bowlers would not have suspected a carnage like the one Navigre and Healy unloaded on them.
