In a video uploaded by the BCCI on their official handle, the brothers were seen having a casual chat discussing what went down in his innings at Rajkot.
Sarfaraz revealed that he looks at his brother’s batting when he is not at his best as he sees both their batting styles similar. He said, ”Musheer Khan (my brother), whenever I am struggling with my batting I always see his batting because our batting is the same.”

When the younger brother picked up the call Sarfaraz was visibly happy, smiling with pride following a fantastic knock on debut scoring a quick half-century. Sarfaraz asked how was his innings and Musheer had a short answer to give him, “Ek Number” (Number One).
Musheer who is also coming after a stellar tour in the U19 World Cup revealed that he was concerned when the elder brother looked to take on Joe Root. The younger brother said,” When you top-edged the ball while playing that shot to Joe Root”
Sarfaraz who was batting at 17, had taken on Root in the final delivery of the 72nd over where he looked to sweep the fuller delivery which was darting onto the pads but managed to get the top edge which could have been a catch but went on towards the square-leg boundary for four runs. But the elder brother was unfazed as he maintained his confidence in his shot to get him the runs considering the aggressive field he was up against. Musheer also added,” I was watching and the moment I saw the ball had passed the fielder, I knew it was safe.”

The debutant had gone on to score a fantastic century in just 48 deliveries making him the second fastest Indian to reach fifty on debut joining Hardik Pandya to share the record. However, his innings were not able to go on for much longer as a lapse in communication from Ravindra Jadeja ended the 26-year-old’s innings. Mark Wood who was standing in at mid-on was able to get the direct hit breaking the hearts of the members of the Khan family in the process.
Meanwhile, Musheer on the other hand will look to replicate Sarfaraz’s exploits in the First-Class format as he will also be eyeing up a spot in the Indian team soon as well.
